Someone else's favorites

Someone else’s favorites

So, I found the meme to the right, which I can’t give attributions for because I can’t read the type in the lower right, but I thought I would list my favorites in the same style, with a couple of extra categories, mostly because it’s a lazy way of getting a blog post written. I haven’t watched Torchwood or Sarah Jane Adventures yet (I know! Blasphemy!) so it’s all Doctor Who.

  1. My turn! From left to right, based on the meme. (btw, check this out http://illegalzombie.tumblr.com/post/57647487430/need-a-pick-me-up-let-a-dalek-help)

Favorite Doctor: “Because you’re so thick! You’re Mister Thick-thick-thickety Thickface from Thicktown, Thickania! And so’s your Dad!”

Favorite Companion: “Being rude isn’t being honest. Neither is overreacting. If I choose to smooth the way with a smile and a soft phrase, that doesn’t make me unreliable. Charm, the way I use it, is to disagree agreeably.”

Favorite Villain: “I am the Master and you will obey me.”

Least Favorite Companion: (Eehhh…I don’t know them all well enough to pick out one I truly dislike more than most.)

Favorite Alien: “Chan- I do not protest -tho.”

Favorite Special Episode: “Look at you! The coat, the crickety cricket stuff, the stick of celery…”

Saddest Episode: “I just want you to know there are worlds out there, safe in the sky because of her. That there are people living in the light, and singing songs of Donna Noble, a thousand million light years away. They will never forget her, while she can never remember. And for one moment, one shining moment, she was the most important woman in the whole wide universe. ”

Funniest Episode: “Agatha Christie. I was just talking about you the other day. I said, I bet she’s brilliant. I’m the Doctor. This is Donna. Oh, I love your stuff. What a mind. You fool me every time. Well, almost every time. Well, once or twice. Well, once. But it was a good once.”

Scariest Episode: “Oh, this is brilliant. I’m so clever already, and now I’m a million times more clever. And what a brain. Not a human brain, not even slightly human. I mean, I’m going to have to completely rework the neural interface, but this is going to be the most efficient Cyberplanner. Not a great name, that, is it? I could call myself Mister Clever. So much raw data. Time Lords. There’s information on the Time Lords in here. Oh, this is just dreamy.”

Favorite Theme: [insert any Doctor Who theme that includes that part in the middle here]

Most Annoying Character: I…don’t know them well enough to make a complete judgement here either.

    Favorite Actor: ::plays spoons::

    Favorite Actress: “Eldrad must live.”

    Favorite Writer: Not sure.

Sorry, Wrong Fandom: “What ho, Jeeves?” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-BAUG97gZo

Favorite Couple: “Good evening. I’m a Lizard Woman from the Dawn of Time, and this is my wife.”

Favorite Friendship: “Always made us pour an extra brandy in case you came round one of these days.”

Favorite Gadget: “John Smith, Health and Safety.”

Favorite Guest Actor: “To repeat, I am Mister Copper, the ship’s historian, and I shall be taking you to old London town in the country of UK, ruled over by good King Wenceslas. Now, human beings worship the great god Santa, a creature with fearsome claws, and his wife Mary. And every Christmas Eve, the people of UK go to war with the country of Turkey. They then eat the Turkey people for Christmas dinner like savages.”

    Favorite Goup Shot: http://tansyrr.com/tansywp/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/carrytomcolour_9799.jpg

Favorite Master: “Anything I can do? I could make the tea, or isn’t that American enough? I don’t know, I could make grits. What are grits, anyway?”

Coolest Thing: “JUST THIS ONCE, EVERYBODY LIVES!”

    • I love the quotes you’ve chosen! I might have to go back and add quotes to all the captions. Stealing your idea! 🙂

I had to think long and hard between Journey’s End and The End of Time for the saddest episode. I finally decided for the latter, because of the Doctor’s many victories and failures in it.

I had considered The Unicorn and the Wasp for funniest, but The Runaway Bride had to win for me, because of the Doctor and Donna trying to get to know each other (and failing so many times).

My husband especially loves “that part in the middle” of the main theme. His favorite version is the Seventh Doctor’s. I love the one I linked because it’s arranged for orchestra so beautifully without all of that extra rock-beat dross that was added in the later series.

Lastly, I love that group shot, too! I had a hard time choosing between it and the one I chose.

      • I love quoting and I’m glad you like those ones. Take all the ideas you want. 🙂

My favorite parts about The Unicorn and the Wasp were the references, especially the Cluedo ones, but I also like the Detox sequence that reminded me of the scene in The Christmas Invasion where he tries to use charades to get tea from Jackie Tyler.

Yeah, the other Doctors playing with Wax Baker is the funniest! 😀
